Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Your use of the website or Apps

This includes technical information (IP address, login information, browser and operating system details, platform, device type, hardware model, MAC address, unique device identifiers and mobile network information); information about your visit (full URL clickstream, date and time); network information (devices, configurations, connection speeds, performance); and page interaction information (pages viewed, response times, errors, scrolling, clicks and mouse-overs).

This may come from payment processing companies, your employer, contractor or agent, other entities in our group, and publicly available sources such as the electoral roll. It includes name, title, contact details, company name, business title, email address, log-in and similar credentials where our contacts have online accounts, and communications with our business contacts.

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Information from other or public sources

This includes information available in the media, on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter (X) and Instagram, and information collected by security systems (such as CCTV) at our premises or events.

How we use it: to maintain market awareness, build and maintain our social media presence, and provide security at our sites.

Why we use it: this is necessary to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, or because we have a legitimate interest in providing security over our business, maintaining a public profile and the accuracy of the data we hold, improving our services through research, ensuring network and information security, preventing and detecting fraud, or developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and partners. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Information from individuals representing organisations

If you would like more information about our legitimate interests in processing your personal data, please contact us using the details below. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time via your account preferences or by contacting the Data Privacy Manager at info@sntv.com.

Sources of data

Your personal information is either provided by you (for example, via our website, platform, App or social media pages), obtained from third parties (such as other entities in our group), or obtained from publicly available sources (such as the internet or Companies House).

In particular, data may come from galleries, social networks, payment processing companies, Google Ads, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, display partners and social networks.

Third party processors

Our carefully selected partners and service providers may process personal information about you on our behalf, as described below.

Digital marketing service providers

We periodically appoint digital marketing agents to conduct marketing activity on our behalf; this may result in the compliant processing of personal information. Our appointed data processors include:

  • Prospect Global Ltd (trading as Sopro), UK company registration 09648733. You can contact Sopro and view their privacy policy at sopro.io. Sopro is registered with the ICO (reference ZA346877); their Data Protection Officer can be emailed at dpo@sopro.io.

In some cases we need to collect or retain personal information for legal reasons.

Some of the personal information we request is required to provide our services; if it is not provided, we may not be able to provide the relevant products, services or information you have requested. Where personal information is needed to take part in an activity on our website or Apps (for example, your name, email address, or company name and address), you may not be able to take part without providing it.

In other cases — for example, when we request personal data to send you marketing communications or personalise your experience — not providing that information means we won't be able to send those communications or personalise your experience, but it will not affect our ability to provide the core service.

Your personal information may also be processed where necessary in response to a reasonable request from a law enforcement or regulatory authority, to investigate, prevent or address suspected illegal activity or fraud, to enforce our Terms of Use or other agreements, to protect the rights, property or safety of our group companies, customers, clients and others, or in defence of legal claims. We will not delete personal information that is relevant to an investigation or dispute until it can be lawfully deleted.

Any personal information you supply through our website or Apps must be complete and accurate. You agree to let us contact you to verify your personal information if we need to.

How long we keep your information

We generally keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services and to deal with legal claims. This depends on factors such as whether you have an account with us, have interacted with recent offers, or have attended our recent events.

We also retain information as necessary to comply with legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

If you object to or opt out of direct marketing, we will retain a copy of your contact details on our suppression list to ensure you don't receive future marketing communications. We will not delete personal data that is relevant to an ongoing investigation or dispute until it is fully resolved.

Information we share

There are certain circumstances in which we transfer your personal data to employees, contractors and other parties:

  • We share information with other members of our group of companies so we can provide the best service across the group — for example, sharing limited contact information with our content delivery partners so our products and services can be made available to you. Group companies must handle your information in line with this Privacy Notice.

  • We may share aggregated, anonymised or de-identified data with advertisers, advertising networks and social networks so they can select and serve relevant adverts, including via tools such as Facebook Custom Audience, and to help advertisers reach their target audience.

  • We share your personal data with analytics and search engine providers who help us improve and optimise our website and Apps and better personalise content and advertising.

  • We share information with contractors and service providers who process it on our behalf — for example, marketing agencies, advertising agencies, IT suppliers, database providers, backup and disaster recovery specialists, email providers and outsourced call centres. These providers must meet our standards on data processing and security, and may only use your information to perform their function for us.

  • We may share information with certain other third parties, such as screening agencies or loyalty scheme partners, either with your consent or where necessary for them to provide products or services to you.

Your personal information may also be transferred to other organisations if:

  • we discuss selling or transferring part or all of our business, subject to confidentiality terms;

  • we are reorganised or sold, so a buyer can continue to provide services to you;

  • we are required to by law, regulation, or a public or regulatory authority (for example, the police);

  • it is required in connection with defending a legal claim; or

  • there is an emergency requiring us to share data to protect the health and safety of our users or the public.

Your personal data may also be shared where it has been made anonymous and aggregated, as it will then no longer be personal data.

Where your information will be held

The information we collect from you may be transferred to and stored outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the USA, which does not have data protection laws equivalent to those in Europe. It may also be processed by staff working outside the EEA for us, one of our affiliated companies, or the organisation that hosts our website and Apps.

To ensure your personal information remains properly protected in line with EU data protection law, any such transfer is governed by a contract including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission under Article 46(2)(c) of the GDPR. We only transfer data outside the scope of the GDPR where the appropriate safeguards required by the GDPR are in place. If you would like copies of the regulator-approved SCCs, please contact us using the details below.

Your rights

You have certain rights in relation to your information, some of which apply only in certain circumstances. To exercise or discuss any of these rights, please contact the Data Privacy Manager at info@sntv.com.

  • Access: ask whether we are processing your information and, if so, request a copy of it along with certain other details.

  • Correction: ask us to correct any incomplete or inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

  • Erasure: ask us to delete or remove your personal information in certain circumstances (subject to exceptions, such as where it's needed to comply with the law or in connection with legal claims).

  • Restriction: ask us to suspend processing of certain personal information — for example, while we establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.

  • Transfer: request that certain personal information be transferred to another party.

  • Objection: challenge our processing where it's based on legitimate interests, including for direct marketing; we may still be entitled to continue processing based on our legitimate interests or where relevant to legal claims.

  • Automated decisions: contest any automated decision made about you that has a legal or similarly significant effect, and ask for it to be reconsidered.

  • Consent: withdraw your consent at any time where we are processing your data on that basis.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State where you habitually reside, where we are based, or where an alleged infringement of data protection law took place. In the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (tel: 0303 123 1113, or at www.ico.org.uk).

Right to object

You have a right to object to us processing your information in certain circumstances. Where we process your personal information based on a legitimate interest (ours or a third party's), you may challenge this; however, we may be entitled to continue processing based on that legitimate interest or where it's relevant to legal claims. You also have the right to object where we process your personal information for direct marketing purposes.

Direct marketing

We may use the information you give us on our website or App for direct marketing purposes — to provide updates, newsletters, event information or other communications we think may interest you. We will only do this with your consent, where required by law.

You can opt out of direct marketing from us at any time, by:

  • changing your marketing preferences in your account settings;

  • clicking "unsubscribe" at the end of any marketing email we send; or

  • contacting the Data Privacy Manager by email at info@sntv.com, or by post to Sports News Television, Building 6, Chiswick Park, 566 Chiswick High Road, London W4 5HR.

Analysis and marketing

We may use third party tools to provide advertising to you on non-partner third party websites (including social media sites such as Facebook), including Facebook Custom Audience and related tools, which match our customers and visitors with a Facebook user to serve advertising on the Facebook platform.

To use these tools effectively, we share your information with providers such as Facebook and use cookies or similar technologies. For more information about Facebook's use of data, see their privacy update. You may withdraw your consent to this use of your data at any time by emailing info@sntv.com.

Do Not Track

You can enable "Do Not Track" in your browser settings if your browser supports it. When enabled, your browser sends a Do Not Track request to sites you visit, letting them know you'd prefer your browsing activity not be tracked. You can take similar steps on mobile.

iOS: open Settings > Privacy > Advertising, then toggle on "Limit Ad Tracking". You'll then be removed from the list of users receiving ads targeted to your Apple ID on that device.

Android: open Google Settings > Ads > Privacy, then toggle on "Do Not Track" to opt out of ads personalisation. Apps will then be instructed not to use your advertising ID to build profiles or show personalised ads.

Some devices may use a different procedure, so please check your device's instructions.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our advertising agency partners use cookies and web beacons that identify your browser.

Cookies collect and store information about how you use our website when you visit, letting us monitor usage, provide a better browsing experience, and carry out analytics.

Web beacons (also known as single-pixel GIFs, clear GIFs or tags) are small graphic images included on our website. They allow us to optimise our products and services, provide analytics on visitor numbers to us and third-party partners, and determine whether you open or act on our marketing emails.

We also work with other organisations to place our cookies and web beacons on their websites or advertisements, to help us understand how often clicking an advert on our website leads to a purchase or other interaction on the advertiser's site.

For more information, see our Cookie Notice.

Security

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted through our website or Apps, and any transmission is at your own risk. Once we receive your personal information, we use procedures and security features to help prevent unauthorised access.

Our website, newsletters, email updates and other communications may from time to time contain links to and from websites of others, including our partner networks, advertisers, other group companies and social networks.

Personal data you provide through those websites is not covered by this Privacy Notice, and we are not responsible for how it's handled by those sites. If you follow a link to another website, please check that site's own privacy notice to see how it collects and processes your information. For information about social sharing features specifically, please check the privacy notice of the platform you choose to share through.

Children

We do not knowingly collect information from children or other persons under 18 years old. If you are under 18, please do not submit any personal information to us or subscribe to our services. If you believe we may hold personal information from or about someone under 18, please contact the Data Privacy Manager (see contact details below).

Changes to this notice

This notice may be changed from time to time. If we make an important change (to the information we collect, how we use it, or why), we will highlight it at the top of the notice and provide a prominent link to it for a reasonable period, and where possible notify you in advance so you understand the impact of the change.

Once posted on our website, this notice takes effect immediately, and the latest version prevails over all previous versions. To access previous versions, please contact the Data Privacy Manager (see contact details below).
