View all Press releases
October 2011

sntv, the world’s leading television sports video news agency, celebrated its 15th anniversary with announcement at Sportel that it will offer High Definition (‘HD’) services from 16th January, 2012 in time for the first big event of the year, the Australian Open Tennis Championships.

sntv launched its market-leading service in October 1996. Over the course of the past 15 years the company has flourished, due to the support of its shareholders, staff, clients and rights-holder partners.

This HD announcement follows sntv’s launch of sntv digital on October 1st, offering a full range of digital products which will include this new HD capability. Broadcast clients will receive the HD service via the Associated Press Media Port system that presently delivers SNTV’s SD video services.

Martin Kay, Managing Director of sntv commented: “We are proud of our track record in providing the most relevant sports news to our customers, in the most useful ways since 1996. We also recognise that our client needs are always evolving, which is why we launched sntv digital and will be the first sports news video agency to offer HD”.

Kay continued: “Sportel is the ideal place to celebrate our anniversary and to recognise the support of our partners AP & IMG. They have been integral to our success from day one. Our recent announcements underscore that, as well as highlight our commitment to innovate as our clients demand”.

sntv will be at the Sportel conference in Monaco October 10th -14th at Stand E20-21. Email mkay@sntv.com or call + 44 7990 531 161.

sntv is a partnership between IMG Media, the world's largest independent producer and distributor of sports programming, with over 40 offices world-wide, and The Associated Press, the backbone of the world's information system, serving over 16,000 media outlets globally with 83 bureaus in 67 countries.
